About these terms

These terms apply to the Pidacta website and the Pidacta browser extension (together, “Pidacta”), provided by Creative Crow Ltd (company number 15080594), based in London N4 2HA. “We” and “us” mean Creative Crow Ltd.

By using Pidacta, you agree to these terms. If you use it on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you’re allowed to accept these terms for that organisation. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data.

Pidacta is in development

Pidacta is a pre-release product. Features may change, be withdrawn or not work as expected, and we may pause or stop offering Pidacta at any time. We’ll try to give notice of significant changes, but can’t promise Pidacta will always be available.

What Pidacta does, and doesn’t

Pidacta uses an on-device model to detect personal information and replace it with aliases. Detection is best-effort: it can miss personal information, and it can flag text that isn’t personal.

  • Always review the result before you share it.
  • Pidacta doesn’t replace your organisation’s data protection policies, training or judgement.
  • Pidacta never sends a message for you. What you share, and where, is your decision.

Your responsibilities

  • Follow the law, your organisation’s policies and the terms of the AI services you use.
  • Check redacted text and files before sharing them, especially when they’re sensitive.
  • Keep alias maps safe. They link aliases back to the original personal details, so treat them as you would the original data.
  • Keep your device and browser secure and up to date.

Acceptable use

Please don’t use Pidacta to:

  • do anything unlawful, fraudulent or harmful to others;
  • interfere with, disrupt or try to gain unauthorised access to our systems or anyone else’s;
  • claim that Pidacta has certified a document as free of personal information;
  • copy, resell or redistribute Pidacta, except where its licence allows.

Your content

The text and files you work with stay yours. Pidacta processes them on your device, so we don’t receive them and claim no rights over them.

If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve Pidacta without any obligation to you.

Third-party services

Pidacta works alongside AI chat services run by other companies, such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok and Copilot. We aren’t affiliated with or endorsed by them, their terms apply to your use of them, and they may change in ways that stop Pidacta working on their sites.

The detection model is downloaded from Hugging Face and is provided under its own open-source licence.

Our intellectual property

The Pidacta name, logo, website and software belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the extension for its intended purpose while these terms apply.

Our liability to you

Pidacta is provided “as is” during its development. As far as the law allows, we don’t give any promise that it will detect all personal information, be free of errors or be available without interruption.

We aren’t responsible for loss caused by personal information that Pidacta didn’t detect or that you chose to share, for loss of business, profit or data, or for any loss we couldn’t reasonably have foreseen.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can’t be limited by law. If you’re a consumer, your legal rights are not affected.

Ending your use

You can stop using Pidacta at any time by removing the extension from your browser. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or if we stop offering Pidacta.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Pidacta develops. We’ll post the new version here and revise the date at the top. If you keep using Pidacta after a change, the updated terms apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you’re a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings there.
